Wedding photography

Hello soon-to-be newlyweds!

Congratulations, you’re in love!

Thank you so much for your interest in my services. I am so excited about the possibility of photographing your wedding.

Choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important aspects of wedding planning. Your photographer will be your trusted expert as the day approaches, your close companion and art director throughout the big day and someone with whom you can connect, relax and feel comfortable throughout it all. Together, we will collaborate, have fun and create dreamy images that capture and preserve all the amazing moments from your wedding. I strive to make sure that being photographed is a joyful experience that will enhance your big day, and never distract from it.

I want to take the best pictures you’ve ever seen of yourselves on one of the most awesome days of your life!

I’ve created this page so you know exactly what to expect during your experience with me. I have a process that I’ve developed carefully by working with my treasured clients, and I would love to take you through it. Let’s go!

  1. TELL ME YOUR DETAILS. Let me know where and when you’re getting married, and—most importantly—to whom!

  2. CONFIRM AVAILABILITY. I’ll let you know if your date is currently available in my calendar. Fingers crossed that it is!

  3. LET’S TALK. We find a time to chat, either in person or over the phone/skype/facetime and get to know each other. I would love to hear all your details, and learn about your vision for your wedding day. This is also when you can ask me any questions you may have, and tell me what you are looking for in your photographs. Hopefully we’re a great fit for each other!

  4. MAKE IT OFFICIAL. When you’re ready to secure your booking, you choose the amount of photography coverage and any à la carte options that are the perfect fit for you, then sign your contract online and send your retainer. Once those items have been received, you’re officially booked!

  5. WALK-THROUGH. We touch base a few weeks before the big day to go over any final details or questions and fine-tune the timeline of your day. I call this my wedding day walk-through. If you’re working with a wedding planner or day-of coordinator, I can do this with them if you prefer.

  6. WEDDING DAY!! The big day finally arrives and I spend the day capturing all the fun. This is by far the best part!

Your wedding day vision

Everyone is different, and no two weddings are ever the same. I want to know what inspires you. Tell me about how you met, fell for each other, and what your ideal wedding day might be like. I’d also love to hear about your everyday life together. Learning about you and the things you love informs the way I’ll approach your day. The more you share with me, the better I can tailor my approach to your interests and aesthetic. Also, I love hearing about your wedding’s setting, theme, colour palette and any other details you might have up your sleeves.

Your photos

After all the dreaming and the planning, your big day finally arrives and it will be everything you wanted it to be and so much more. After the wedding, you’ll bask in newlywed bliss. Then, a short while later, your photos will arrive and you’ll get to live it all over again. It’s the best!

You will receive your wedding photos within one month of your wedding date // I edit every image for brightness, contrast, and composition // I retouch close-up portraits // All photos are taken in colour, then some are converted to black and white based on what looks best stylistically.

My style

I create a photography experience that will make you look and feel amazing. I continually strive to produce images that are an authentic reflection of the people in them. It’s my job to make sure you look fabulous, and feel completely comfortable while you’re having your photos taken.

My approach is a mix of directed portraits (portraits of both partners individually and as a couple, family, and wedding party) and photojournalism (the rest of the event). I offer lots of direction so that you will feel totally at ease during your portraits, and so that we can complete the process more efficiently. Then, as your ceremony begins, I assume the role of a photojournalist and blend into the background. I will spend the duration of the event capturing moments as they naturally unfold.

Of course, you are more than welcome to come talk to me and request posed photos during the reception as well! As the evening goes on, brides and grooms sometimes request a few stolen moments of romantic, posed photos just outside of the reception as well.

I am focused and serious, but I love to laugh and will bring my sense of humour along with my A-game // Helping camera shy people feel comfortable and confident is my specialty // I believe having your portrait taken should not only be painless—it should be one of your favourite parts of the day! I do my all to make sure that’s the case.

Your wedding photography experience

edmonton wedding photographer152.JPG

Believe it or not, you will spend more time with your photographer than any other vendor or guest. For this reason, it’s important that you chose a photographer with whom you feel comfortable. It’s so important to me that you love your entire wedding photography experience. I will work closely with you every step of the way, with lots of clear information and communication about what to expect from booking to wedding day to the delivery of your images and any printed products you may choose.

Engagement session

An engagement session is the perfect warm-up for wedding photography. Not only does it give you an opportunity to relax in front of the camera, but it also provides beautiful images that you can use for your save the dates, wedding invitations, or to display at your wedding.

Where did you first fall in love?

Where do you feel most comfortable?

What are some of your favourite places?

What do you like to do together?

If you’re interested in an engagement session, we’ll work together to find a location that is meaningful for you.

Engagement sessions last approximately 90 minutes // Included in your session is a pre-shoot consultation // I will happily give you styling suggestions and help you choose looks that suit you and your partner // You will receive 50-60 images, delivered to you in high resolution via your beautiful online gallery // The rate above is for engagement sessions in the greater Edmonton area, though I am always happy to travel elsewhere!

Fine Art albums

Handcrafted in Canada

Creating wedding albums to display your images is one of the most important parts of my job. As you’ve seen, all wedding collections include high resolution images, but having a beautiful, tangible product to hold and cherish is the goal. Albums are the best way to share your wedding photographs with family and friends, and are made to last a lifetime. I offer a range of styles and price points to provide you with options.

Leather-Bound album — $1199

The highest-quality handcrafted album out there, discovered through extensive research. It’s the Rolls Royce of wedding albums, and what I chose for my own wedding album. The leather-bound archival album is sure to become an heirloom.

Linen-Bound album — $1099

The linen-bound album boasts the same top quality craftsmanship and thick pages as its leather cousin, but its soft linen cover lends it a subtle and sophisticated vibe.

Premium Flat album — $499 10x10 / $399 8x8

The premium flat book is the most simple of the three options. It’s a wonderful choice for an album of your engagement photos, but it also makes a statement as a wedding album for you, or as a thank-you album for your parents.

All of the above albums are stunning, lay-flat books printed on highest quality paper. Each one is 10x10 inches in size and includes 15 spreads (30 pages) and up to 50 images of your choice.

Engagement Guestbook — $399

An 8x8” album of images from your engagement session, designed with extra space for guests to write their congratulations at your wedding. A modern way to receive your guests’ best wishes.

Add additional images to any of the albums for $30/image. Additional sizes are available, so don’t be shy to ask about smaller options.

Choosing your photographer

One way I ensure that my couples enjoy the best photographic experience possible is through forming a strong relationship with you. I try my best to make sure that we are the perfect fit before officially booking. Partners should connect with their photographer, trust their photographer and be truly excited about going the whole process with them!

Whoever you choose to capture your big day, I would encourage you to ensure that you establish a personal connection with them and make sure you feel 100% confident that they are the person you want by your side when you tie the knot. Make sure you love their portfolio, their approach (e.g. do they help with direction and posing or do they have a purely “fly on the wall” style of shooting?) and most importantly, make sure you enjoy their overall vibe and interpersonal style so that you know they will take excellent care of you and make a great impression on your guests.
