Let’s face it: chilly winds have arrived earlier than expected in Edmonton this year, and just like that, fall is blowing us goodbye kisses!

I’ve decided to embrace the arrival of winter and celebrate by offering my first ever Winter Mini Sessions. These indoor sessions will take place in my studio in Central/West Edmonton, so you’ll get all the winter wonderland sparkle without shivering outside in the snow.

Bring your partner, your family or fly solo. Together we’ll create some stylish, modern and minimalist (yet oh so sparkly!) portraits that will be just perfect for your holiday cards.

Allow me to set the scene for you: I’ll welcome you into my greenhouse studio. We’ll have music playing, candles burning, and warm beverages to get you feeling cozy. You’ll wear something lovely that makes you feel fabulous. We’ll play with festive props and toss some confetti. It will be easy, fun and very glittery.

Two days after your shoot, you’ll receive your proofing gallery of 20-25 images. You’ll choose your top five (or more!), and I’ll work my editing magic on them for you. One week later, you’ll have your finished images with lots of time to order holiday cards. I’ll even send you my curated list of recommended places where you can order the prettiest cards.

More details:

  • If you fall in love with more than five portraits (and I do hope you will!) you are most welcome to purchase more portraits at $25/image.

  • First come, first served! A retainer of 50% is required to secure your spot.

  • Maximum five people per family. I’d love to host more but my studio is teeny!

  • If you love this idea but have a bigger family, I’m happy to come to your home and do a full session there. No promises that I won’t leave a trail of confetti behind me!

  • Pets are welcome, but only one pet per client, please. Unless your pets are really little. Then, we’ll talk :)

High school graduation is one of my very favourite milestones to document. The excitement, the glamour, the proud parents. It's all magic! So you can imagine how giddy I was when Jennifer asked me to photograph her daughter Lizzy's graduation. I'd previously photographed her elder daughter Avery's graduation party last summer, so I was really happy to spend more time with one of my favourite families and mark this occasion for them with portraits.

Lizzy came to my studio to be glammed up by the lovely Melenie Montgomery, as her and her mom and sister snacked on treats from Duchess Bakeshop and sipped champagne. Her dad and sweet boyfriend joined in and we started with some portraits in my studio. Then we travelled to the Legislature grounds, where hundreds of other grads were gathered to celebrate with their friends and, well, take pictures.

The positive energy was contagious. I was honoured to be there. Congratulations, Lizzy! I'm so excited for you.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about all things physical and tangible. Things that we can touch and hold. Although I'm a digital photographer, my journey began with film and my obsession developed in the darkroom at my high school as I watched my work bloom to life in the chemical baths. Working and delivering digitally has many advantages, and I take pride in being able to send clients a beautiful online gallery of their images, but sending along tangible items is increasingly important to me.

When USB Memory Direct reached out to me, I was keen to partner with them as I am putting together ideas for how I provide my clients with more physical tokens to remember their wedding or portrait experience with me, and to hold onto the brightest and most precious moments from their special occasion.

I'm happy to share that thanks to the folks at USB Memory Direct, I will now have USB keys available upon request in addition to online galleries. I also offer a full line of prints and albums, and am working on finding some extraordinary new items as well.

Here's a peek at the beautiful wooden USB keys you can now request!

I'm playing around with different stationary options and packaging for different types of clients. Below you can see some ideas I'm working on for model portfolio shoot clients as well as golden anniversary portrait clients.

If you're a fellow photographer and looking to find a USB key to complement your digital delivery, USB Memory Direct has lots of options to suit different styles, so it's easy to upload your logo and have a personalized key made that ties in with your brand. They offer fast shipping and I was super happy with the quality of the keys I received.
