WINTER MINI SESSIONS 2018

Let’s face it: chilly winds have arrived earlier than expected in Edmonton this year, and just like that, fall is blowing us goodbye kisses!

I’ve decided to embrace the arrival of winter and celebrate by offering my first ever Winter Mini Sessions. These indoor sessions will take place in my studio in Central/West Edmonton, so you’ll get all the winter wonderland sparkle without shivering outside in the snow.

Bring your partner, your family or fly solo. Together we’ll create some stylish, modern and minimalist (yet oh so sparkly!) portraits that will be just perfect for your holiday cards.

Allow me to set the scene for you: I’ll welcome you into my greenhouse studio. We’ll have music playing, candles burning, and warm beverages to get you feeling cozy. You’ll wear something lovely that makes you feel fabulous. We’ll play with festive props and toss some confetti. It will be easy, fun and very glittery.

Two days after your shoot, you’ll receive your proofing gallery of 20-25 images. You’ll choose your top five (or more!), and I’ll work my editing magic on them for you. One week later, you’ll have your finished images with lots of time to order holiday cards. I’ll even send you my curated list of recommended places where you can order the prettiest cards.

EDMONTON PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER | JILL & DION

Recently my talented friend Jill took my maternity portraits and just dazzled us with her vision, so I was very excited to have the chance to photograph her and her husband, Dion. Jill and I had spent a morning before our respective shoots driving around the city, looking for new locations where we'd been wanting to work and rediscovering some favourite spots along the way. It was fun to explore some new spaces together while planning together.

Jill and Dion, you guys are awesome. It was so much fun to spend the evening with you and I'm so delighted we had such spectacular late-summer light!

KANANASKIS ENGAGEMENT | AUDREY & RYAN

I met Audrey and Ryan in the mountains of Kananaskis Country for their engagement session. We were so fortunate to catch such beautiful golden light and a perfect autumn day. They plan to marry next year in Audrey's home province of Quebec, but since they met and fell in love in Alberta, they felt it was only fitting to have portraits taken here to mark their engagement. It was the first time they'd been photographed as a couple, and also their first experience doing a professional shoot. I always feel lucky and grateful to take portraits of people who are new to being in front of the camera, as it's my honour and privilege to make them feel cozy and confident. As you'll see, they are both highly photogenic and looked completely natural and comfortable being photographed. They let their love shine through any apprehension they may have felt. In other words, we had a fabulous time!

Audrey and Ryan, I wish you so much happiness and all the best as you plan your beautiful wedding in Quebec City. I know it will be spectacular! Special thanks to Gina for sending these sweethearts my way.

KANANASKIS ENGAGEMENT | GINA & KEVIN

Just a few weeks after Gina moved to Calgary from Ottawa, she was out for drinks when one of her friends introduced her to a tall and handsome stranger. While her first thought was "damn!" when being introduced to Kevin, he confesses that at the time he thought there was some kind of ruse. Why, he wondered, "would a girl as beautiful, articulate and thoughtful as her want to talk to me?"

As it turns out, the attraction was definitely mutual, and their instant chemistry grew quickly into a strong friendship and love. Together, they love exploring their city, and also taking mini-road trips and talking for hours on end along the way. On one such trip, they drove to out to Kananaskis to go for a short hike and enjoy the beautiful mountain air. Gina was a bit disappointed when the weather suddenly turned stormy, but when she turned around and saw Kevin down on one knee, she decided the rain only added to the drama of the moment and joyfully accepted his proposal.

Gina describes Kevin as witty, intelligent, and a perfect travel partner who would do anything for his family and friends. Kevin loves everything about Gina, but his favourite qualities are her kindness and thoughtfulness, her ability to make new friends, and her drive to succeed in all she does. They are excited to tie the knot next summer and look forward to spending every day together, facing every new challenge and adventure side by side.

It seems only fitting that we returned to their beloved mountains to document this moment in their lives. We drove to Spray Valley Provincial Park and of course, the site of their proposal, Kananaskis Country, for their engagement session. It was my first opportunity to do love portraits in the mountains and it was spectacular.

Kevin and Gina, I'm so excited for you guys and all that lies ahead. Thank you so much for choosing me!
