2013—what a year it was! Looking back I suppose it seems strange to have launched my photography business as a full-time venture in Canada just as I moved to the US. In fact, just re-reading that sentence makes it sound kind of impossible. But somehow, it wasn't. Somehow it worked. It worked because of you: those of you who read my blog, who follow my work, who pass along your kind and supportive thoughts, who let me crash in your guest rooms when I'm on the road, and (most of all) those of you who invite me to photograph part of your life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I'm so excited that 2014 is here and I'm thrilled to see what it brings. Operating a small business has been a wild ride so far, full of excitement, risk and reward. Despite the nerves that clench me on a regular basis, I wouldn't trade the adventure or the joy for anything in the world.
A few notes for the year ahead:
YES, I am shooting weddings, engagements, portraits, families and editorial projects in Canada this year. I will be back in Canada full-time as of June 1st, 2014 at the latest, but there's a good chance I'll be back in the spring too, so don't hesitate to get in touch
if you want to book a shoot!
Although my wedding season is booking up quickly, I do still have some availability, so if you're getting married and looking for a photographer, send me a note
My dreams for the year ahead are so big it makes me feel a little crazy. They're scary and ever-shifting. Some days they make me want to curl into a ball and do nothing but rewatch Gossip Girl on Netflix. But most days they make me jump out of bed with my heart beating quickly, hungry to get started. I can't wait to take you guys along on the journey through this blog.
So before this year really gets into gear, I thought it would be fun to look back on some favourite moments from 2013. Thanks for the memories!
Thanks once again to everyone!
