I feel so lucky to have stepped into Lesley and Graeme's world and photographed a little piece of it. They have the coziest life together, one that's built on warmth and love and a strong sense of home. They share an ease and comfort that shows how right they are for each other, and how well they fit together.
When we were talking on Skype a few months back about what she had in mind for their engagement session, Lesley asked if I would be willing to travel to their home in Georgetown. She thought it might be cool to set their portraits in their favourite local spots, the places that are deeply embedded in their daily lives. I jumped at the opportunity to photograph their beautiful community.
As I've mentioned before, I really love winter engagement sessions and the beautifully soft light they often feature. In the days approaching their shoot, Lesley and I respectively watched the forecast, hoping some flurries would grace the day.
On the day of their engagement session, we were met with beautiful winter sun and a perfectly opportune amount of light snow. We walked the same path where Graeme and Lesley walk their sweet puppy, Chief, and later ventured to Glen Williams, an absolutely adorable town that looks just like a movie set. We finished up their portraits at the Glen Oven Café, which is owned and operated by Lesley's maid of honour, and home to some of the world's most delicious scones.
Lesley and Graeme, it was so awesome to hang out and photograph you in your element in Georgetown and to meet your adorable pets. I can't wait for your wedding next summer in Caledon!
And I couldn't resist creating a little gif of our attempts to take a family photo with a certain happy and affectionate puppy...
