I was recently interviewed by Edmonton based artist, designer, writer and educator Stephanie Medford for her blog, Everyday Artistry. In this Creative Living feature we chat about how I got started as a photographer, what inspires me, and how I handle creative struggles to grow as an artist. You can read the whole interview here:

Stephanie and I met at the first Creative Mornings I attended here in Edmonton. I've since enjoyed many great chats over tea, or spending time with her at meetings for our Edmonton chapter of the Rising Tide Society, and seeing her cheerfully displaying her creations at various local art shows. I've also been lucky enough to attend one of her printmaking workshops, hosted by local shop Habitat Etc. She is an excellent teacher, so if you're ever interested in picking up a new creative skill, be sure to check out Stephanie's workshops.

Thank you so much, Stephanie, for featuring me on your blog, and for your warmth, generosity and friendship in general!

Two years ago today, Aarti and Bhavesh were married. Check out their beautiful wedding at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. In honour of their second anniversary, I thought I'd share a link to their recent feature on the wedding blog, Crazy in Love. Check out more images from their colourful, heartfelt celebration here.

Happy anniversary, you guys!

A few weeks ago, I sat down with writer Athena Raypold at one of my favourite Edmonton cafés, Little Brick, for an in-depth conversation. She interviewed me about my business, its purpose, my "why" and what I feel I can offer my photography clients.

I generally prefer asking questions of others rather than answering them, but Athena is a top-notch interviewer and really went deep to learn as much as she could about why I do what I do. The interview resulted in this lovely business story on Yellow Pages Canada

Thanks so much, Athena, for writing about the heart of my photography practice.

kortright centre wedding | paige & josé

This past summer, my friends Paige and José were married at the beautiful Kortright Centre. Though the weather coaxed their ceremony indoors, it was so cozy and warm sitting inside under strings of lights, watching them exchange vows as it drizzled softly outside. Though I was a guest at their wedding, I had the honour of being a second shooter for the ceremony, assisting Jenna Marie Wakani, who always creates incredible images. It was my first time second shooting at a wedding, and what a pleasure to work alongside such a talented artist. Paige & José, your wedding was so lovely and SO MUCH FUN! Congratulations on tying the knot. I wish you two (and your adorable dog, Lionel) continued happiness and adventure.

Friends sang a lively cover of "Marry You" by Bruno Mars during the recessional, and sparkling wine was served shortly thereafter.

Dessert was created by Mary of The Midnight Snack Co. and both the croquembouche and donuts were beyond delicious. Instead of cutting a cake, the bride and groom opted to split a donut.

It was such a joy to watch P & J tie the knot, and especially fun to be in attendance as a guest.

Paige and José's wedding is featured in the January 2016 issue of Wedding Bells magazine (Toronto and Greater ON edition). Pick up a copy to see more of their beautiful day.
