I was recently commissioned by Edmonton-based jewellery designer Cara Cotter for her brand new Iconic Collection of bespoke pieces. This collection allows clients to choose their icon and style of chain or bracelet to create a beautifully customized piece. In order to showcase the myriad styles that can be made from the Iconic Collection, Cara styled many different combinations for our model, Hilary. This was a dream project in every way for me. I hope you enjoy Cara's exquisite work as much as I do! You can shop So Pretty Cara Cotter online, in her Edmonton studio (open to the public Thursdays 10am-6pm, or by appointment), at the West Edmonton Mall's RAAS installation, or at a variety of her stockists.

I recently photographed this lovely young lady, Darby, at my home studio. I had been itching to do a few indoor creative shoots during the tail end of this winter, so when I found Darby and her magnificent mane of pink hair, I was instantly excited to photograph her. I created a subtly mermaid-inspired makeup look with iridescent pastel tones using the Yaby Cosmetics World of Pearl Paint pre-set palette, which I would highly recommend. I wanted to let her naturally perfect skin shine through, so I used only a small amount of Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation. On her lips I used Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in Reflex Frosty White.

Darby, thanks so much for modelling for me. I wish you the best of luck in all your adventures.

Many thanks to my friend Katryna Rae for lending me the beautiful ombré backdrop!

As you may have gathered from my recent Valentine's Day date ideas in Edmonton post, I like to revel a bit in this schmaltzy holiday of affection. I thought it would be fun to do a series of unabashedly saccharine, vday-inspired portraits with a pretty colour palette and a rose motif. I teamed up with my friends at Blogger Armoire to create a shoot based around three soft and feminine looks and a whole lot of roses. We were so fortunate to have model Teresa on board too. It was a pleasure to spend time with this sparkling young lady during our shoot!
