claire and jesse's arts & letter's club wedding

Toronto's Arts & Letters Club was founded by some of Canada's finest creative citizens, and was intended as a hangout where artists of all kinds could meet, exchange ideas, inspire each other, and generally have a great time. Over a century after its creation, the Club is still host to meetings of minds and ideas, as well as wonderful parties. Recently, the historic building opened its doors for the wedding of Claire and Jesse.

On their wedding day, Jesse calmly walked about the venue, double-checking all the final details and shaking hands with the staff. Upstairs in the library, Claire put the finishing touches on her outfit and took a few moments to relax. Both of their faces were lit by knowing smiles. They both knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they were about to marry the perfect partner. They also knew that an unforgettable day lay before them.

The excitement built progressively with the arrival of each beautifully dressed guest, and a the hum of conversation between friends and strangers alike reached a joyful tune even before the ceremony began. Jesse and Claire have surrounded themselves with people who share their zest for life, their friendliness and their kindness.

After vows were shared and champagne was sipped, the toasts and trivia kicked off and laughter echoed steadily in the room. All the stories and jokes shared by friends and family painted a picture of two incredibly creative, warm and hilarious individuals who—it became clear—were meant to cross paths. Jesse and Claire have much in common but their sense of humour seemed to to be a trait they shared with their whole guest list. Collectively, they were a room full of happy people. Most of all, they were happy that Claire and Jesse would be spending the rest of their lives side by side.

I have to just start by saying this: Claire and Jesse, your wedding was a photographer's dream. From your joyful presence and the incandescent love you share to every last stunning detail you planned for your day, it was truly a pleasure to be the one to document the festivities. Thank you for allowing me the wonderful opportunity to be there and to capture the moments for you.

Claire looked spectacular in her Elizabeth Dye gown and David Dunkley fascinator.

After Claire and Jesse first saw each other, we headed upstairs to the Artist's Loft, an expansive studio, for their portraits. We were joined Ken and Erin, their best man and maid of honour.

Their ceremony was held in the Great Hall, which set a beautiful scene.
