moving day + instagram

Today we've moved into a new apartment, where we'll be staying for the next two months on-and-off before moving back to Canada for August/September. We arrived during the swell of a thunderstorm, and just as we dropped our last bags and boxes, the power went out. Luckily, I had tossed my candles into the top of the last bag I packed, so what started out as a wet and inconvenient scenario turned into a cozy welcome.

It was a strange feeling, leaving a house and a view (see below left) that I had come to really love during the last five months. Though we only moved about six blocks from our first Madison home, it still feels like a bit of upheaval. But maybe any kind of move does. Our new place is really comfortable and close to a lot of great coffee shops and restaurants as well as gorgeous parks. We capped off a long day of working, cleaning and packing with some fish and chips and raspberry beer at the nearby The Old Fashioned. It was cool to relax at a familiar place in the midst of changing homes again.

In other news, I'm finally, FINALLY on instagram. Yay! Find me here or, simply search @dallascurow. I'm beyond excited to join in on the fun.
