march beauty wish list

With the arrival of March, I always try to convince myself that winter is over. I put away my parka way too early and shiver defiantly, and I walk with a spring in my step while slipping on icy sidewalks. But you know we're getting close, right? I mean, as Brian and I were reminiscing yesterday, some St. Patrick's Days past totally boasted t-shirt weather.

Spring and fall are my favourite seasons, mostly because transitional seasons are just awesome, but also because they have the prettiest light and colours for outdoor portraits. And I don't know about you, but after slacking in the beauty department during the winter, the coming of spring makes me want to get gussied up again. Here's what's on my beauty radar this month:

Guerlain Météorites. This has been on my wish list since I was a tween, and I'm saving my pennies to finally purchase this beautiful luminizing pearls.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Color Watt Highlighting Mascara. Emerald green is the colour of March, it's Pantone's colour of the year, and one of my all-time favourite hues. Plus, coloured mascara is better formulated than it was in the '80s, so you can wear it and still look subtle and timeless, while still being on-trend.

L'Oreal True Grip Texturizing Powder. If you have fine hair, you will know that it slips out of styles pretty quickly if you don't give it some help. Dry shampoo works pretty well to add traction to slippery locks, but that's not really what it's created for, so it has its limitations. Luckily, beauty brands have grown wise to the fact that people are using dry shampoo to texturize, but they've upped the ante with products specifically formulated to add texture and grip to hair. I've been reading great reviews about this one. Yes, it's at a higher price point than some drugstore brands, but apparently a little goes a long way, and I believe in investing in quality.

Urban Decay All-Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. I'm always on the lookout for products that extend the staying power of makeup, especially for weddings, and this seems to be the top pick of many leading artists. If I buy it, I'll be sure to go dance my face off and let you know how much makeup remains after a night of spastic, Elaine-esque dance moves!
