30 days in Madison

This week, I'm equally nervous and excited to share my first video project with you. I took up the 30 Days of Filming challenge put forth by photographer Sue Bryce and filmmaker Hailey Bartholomew and decided to document some first impressions from my first full month in our new "home for now."

This was filmed on both my Canon 5D Mark II and my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS5, and edited using iMovie'11. I learned so many things from this project--among them: the importance of using a tripod (I left mine in Toronto), the drastic difference in mood that song choice can bring forth, and the value of habitual practice when developing a new skill. I guess most importantly, I learned how to use the video setting on my camera.

And now, without further ado, welcome to Madison!

Update: I've gotten a few emails asking about the song featured in the video. It's "Forever is better with you" by The Humming House.
