dans le boudoir with s

This series of portraits marks the wonderful memory of my very first boudoir portrait session. It all began when S contacted me to inquire about having some special photos taken as a Christmas gift for her partner. As I mentioned in my post about Lisa's boudoir session, portraits are portraits, and I could not have been more excited to expand my range.

As we planned our shoot, S thought her boyfriend's apartment would be the perfect place for her portrait session, as he works long days and we could be sure he wouldn't be home until late in the evening. We were comfortably halfway through her session, however, when the door rattled and her bewildered boyfriend walked in to find me, as S had ducked behind the sofa.

"Oh hello!" I said, to the man whose apartment I'd seemingly broken into.

"I know I'm a stranger, but I'm a friend! Your lady is here, but you can't see her right now, so..."

As I frantically tried to untie my tongue and give him a better explanation, he kindly backed away slowly and said, "Uh, okay, I guess I'll go have my lunch somewhere else."

I closed the door behind him as S jumped up from her hiding place. After a long fit of laughter and confusion (why did he choose today of all days to eat lunch at home?) we resumed taking portraits and having a great time.

Highly organized people have a special place in my heart, and S is admirably one of them. She had all her outfits neatly piled, alongside accompanying jewellery and accessories, with a list that we could cross reference should we need to. She had also sent me zip files of inspiration in advance, which was really helpful for giving me a sense of what she wanted. S, thank you so much for choosing me, for trusting me, and for just being so awesome in general.

So here are the photos from our very fun and hilarious winter's day together, my first boudoir portraits.

The images have been cropped to preserve her privacy.
