ottawa wedding | jennie & zach

This spring has been filled with excitement, and one of the biggest highlights has been the wedding of two of my best friends, Jennie and Zach.

Brian and I had the honour of being their witnesses, and we were so happy to join in on their intimate city hall ceremony a few days before the wedding. We then joined the happy couple and their families in all the final wedding preparations, excitement mounting as more and more guests arrived from places as far away as China, Ghana, Iceland, and Australia.

I've known Jennie since the first day of university, and I credit her for getting me through in one piece. Though all the years I've been lucky to call her my best friend, Jennie has consistently made my world a sunny place, full of humour and fun.

The moment I met Zach, I reserved a place for him in my heart because I immediately knew he would be the man my best friend would marry. His charisma is legendary, and his love for Jennie is nothing short of inspiring. Together, they are a truly special couple, and have a warmth that draws countless friends and endears them to everyone they meet.

Brian and I just photographed a small portion of Jennie and Zach's big day. We captured their wedding day preparations, and their first look (portraits before the ceremony.) The rest of the day was documented by the very talented J B Hildebrand as we stepped into our witness and partying duties.

Their ceremony was held at Cumberland Heritage Village Museum, the same place where we did their engagement session last summer. The weather couldn't have been more beautiful at this picturesque location.

Jennie and Zach, words can't describe how much it meant to be involved in your wedding and all the festivities surrounding it. I hope you're enjoying every moment of your honeymoon.

This was the heart-shaped case Jennie's parents used for their rings at their own wedding.

Meanwhile. Brian joined Zach as he prepared in his hotel room.

Jennie sneaks a peek at Zach from inside the museum.

As Zach waited beneath the canopy of trees, she walked out to meet him.

After their first look, we explored the village for some portraits.

Jennie's dad made the sign above to honour all the guests who had travelled from far and wide for the big day.

And, just for fun, I'll end this post with two behind-the-scenes photos. Brian caught me snapping away during Jennie and Zach's portraits:

And here we are after the ceremony, trying to keep the flowers (and ourselves) from wilting in the bright sun.
