Recently, I was lucky to meet and photograph a lovely lady named Jayme. When I arrived at her apartment, she and her pug, Napoleon, both greeted me warmly. Originally from Baltimore, Jayme is here in Montreal, doing her masters in Art Education.
I always love meeting people from different cities and hearing their impressions of Montreal. Jayme is enamoured by the colourful metal staircases, cozy cafés, and sprawling parks of our adopted city. As such, we tried to incorporate many of those elements into her shoot. Photography has an amazing way of freezing our feelings about a place into light and colour. Through these photos, Jayme and I attempted to celebrate her favourite aspects of her temporary home, and preserve a tiny piece of her time here.
Jayme, thank you so much for collaborating me on these photos, and for trusting me to capture the feeling of being in Montreal, and in our neighbourhood. I wish you the best of luck with your program, your art projects, and your upcoming Etsy site. I can't wait until it launches!
Don't you love the neon painting in the background? It was created by our mutual friend Jenny, who you may remember from her and Ian's modern romance portrait session I did last fall.
