It's not something you encounter every day, but have you ever been around two people whose love is something you, an outside observer, can feel? It hangs like a fine mist in the air, or brushes against you like a soft wind. Invisible, yet undeniably palpable, their love thrums and glows whenever they're together and its warmth extends outwards to everyone who is lucky enough to be in their circle. That's how it feels to spend time with Chelsea and Zubin.

I am so incredibly lucky to have photographed their wedding. It seems extra special and fortuitous, as it was the first wedding I shot in my new province. Their day was a photographer's dream from beginning to end, so personalized and unconventional and a visual feast. Let me tell you how their wedding happened.

After getting dressed in their finery, they met where they live together, a beautiful heritage home in Calgary. Chelsea descended the stairs as Zubin waited in their living room. They embraced with warmth and calmness, setting the tone for the the day. We did some portraits in and around their home, then travelled to a few of their favourite places around the city (scenic ridge overlooking the river! ice cream shop! bistro!) gradually making our way to their venue, Parc Café & Brasserie.

Upon arriving at Parc, they were ready to party. Chelsea and Zubin had flipped the typical order of things, beginning by greeting every guest at the door, followed by cocktails, then dinner and speeches, with their wedding ceremony as the climax of the evening. They wanted their guests to mingle and enjoy themselves, and they wanted to be able to meet each other's family and friends who had travelled from afar before they tied the knot. How smart and lovely is that?

I've gone on long enough, let's get to the pictures. Chels and Zubin, thank you for choosing me. xo
